We have done this cabin camp a number of times with a Police Explorer Post from Baltimore.  We camp together in a cabin... we supply the camping gear, they supply the scenarios and communications gear and we have fun.  Think of it as a huge game of cops and robbers....

The crew and post are divided up into small teams (three to four people) and then told to patrol different sectors of the camp.  The dispatch center is in the cabin.  One group is elected as the setup actors and remain behind.  While the patrol groups are getting acquainted with the camp, the setup actors work with the Explorer Post leadership and are being briefed on different scenarios that they will "act out".  An adult member of the Post is there to supervise the situation as it unfolds to insure that things don't get out of hand.  These scenarios will range from a missing person at the lake front to disorderly conduct, to bomb threats, to domestic disputes.

The Explorer members are to assess each situation and follow proper procedure.  Following an "incident", the Explorer members review their performance in a given situation.  The Crew has always had a good time at these events!
